Idea about subscribed posts NOT resetting themselves...

Hey I had an experience on another board that I really like,

Particularly, it's interesting to me now because it's like this for me tuning in every so often:

a. sign in and try see ALL that has happened since I was gone concerning my subscribed posts.
or
b. let it ride and maybe miss out on some conversation, which I don't enjoy doing.

So what I'm asking is:

Is there a way we can set the boards to leave up our subscribed posts until we:

a. click on them, which makes them 'read'
or
b. they stay 'unread' until we read them OR click 'mark forums read' (which is in the 'Quick links' drop down area)

Another good thing about this might be for our semi-regular members who aren't here all the time, but are more than just a once a month check in...

It might help them keep up to speed or something like that faciliating more conversation?

My thought it that it should just be a simple flip of a switch, but I don't know?

So I'm asking for opinions from other members, or if an Admin can even do this in the first place.

I write the thread title, the current post count, the most recent poster in that thread, and the URL in my day timer just in case.

I like the idea bc I have trouble keeping up with threads. But thats yahooka you miss one post and your 2wks behind everybody else

It's a part of Yahooka I'd like to see change though...

I feel it'll help keep people up to speed and maybe IN the talk a little more instead of just watching the flow and wondering what the **** is happening.

If people want to just watch threads blow by and never jump in, let them go to Grasscity!

I'm not sure if I'm the only one who feels like this, so that's why I brought it out to talk about and see if it's really a need.... or if people would at least not mind the idea if the Mod-Admins talked about it and decided if it's a good move/worth while.... etc....

Would you be adverse to the idea?
