They did their pre-flower stretch last week and started flowering a few days ago. One pheno is like the ones i grew this spring, short and Christmas tree like.

question : i wanna cut the lower (smaller) branches so the plants can focus on the main top buds. Can i do it now that flowering has already started or am i gonna stress the plant/slow it down?

Were it me, and there aren't a whole whack of pistils... I would trim it up for sure.
The bottom branches tend to produce tiny buds anyways
