To me, 2012 is just something to wait for. It's fun to speculate. It's significant enough for the Mayan to choose a specific year or date that is good enough for me to be like, "OK, I'm going to wait for 2012, it might be cool."

I'm not saying it for 2011 or 2013 because it hasn't been given attention like 2012. But what more do you have to go off of that to be trying to predict what will actually happen?

I've got a million ideas. One of them is that we'll be able to extract energy out of water with 1000% efficiency. Another is artificial intelligence may be created. It could be something destructive. It could be something significant.

But I really don't think anything "paranormal" will take place such as clairvoyance and all that. May I be pleasantly surprised if that happens but I think if there is some synchronistic event that occurs it's going to be a lot more subtle than mind-reading even though it will be apparent. We probably won't know what it is if anything for years and years. And it will probably be something that we had all along that we only gained awareness for some reason. I say this because I see a lot more awareness among people lately. Something's different.

We've been accelerating our evolution for since our brains were big enough to big considered homo sapien. Hopefully 2012 will be a cresendo of the information that will force us to look at the world in a knew way.

I think it's pretty stupid that I'm not seeing more "maybe"s and "I think"s in this thread.
