Many plants have "tigers ears" or whatever you call those big single calyx's at the nodes. I couldn't get a good angle on it it, but this one

had a suspicious triangular shape to it. So I ripped off the calyx to see what was underneath.
Is that (circled) the base that the pistils stick out of, or is that an immature pollen pod?
EDIT: upon further study, that appears to be more a "pre-seed" than a "pre-pollen pod", so I'm prolly jumping at shadows.
