There's one discrepancy I don't quite understand. The initial article cites the missing firearm as a 'service revolver', while the second states the missing firearm is a 'semi-automatic handgun'.
Forty-five rounds to investigate some street-level drug dealing at a school is either a typical semi-auto loadout or a panicked amount of speedloaders for the revolver.
