OMG great thread, I am surprised I hadn't seen it before...
Right now I am reading: A Stone for Danny Fisher by Harold Robbins. Before that it was Gingerman by J.P. Donleavy.
Gingerman was an awesome book, and so far, Mr. Robbins does not disappoint.
