ok i have alot of music that is marginal on my ipod, out of pure laziness i just never change it but i will try this out for real and actually try the first 5 random. im also really fucking bored and its 1 in the morning so i devoted a bit of time to this ... sigh... lol

1) bjork - i see who you are : typical bjork, enjoyable in the context of the album but on its own is nothing special. like all her music, its some honest, real music, only i am a bit disconnected from it because i cant really understand what the fuck it is actually about, lyric-wise. not that that is something that usually bothers me, i just cant really relate to it at all or get into it.

2) john frusciante- the worlds edge - hmm from one of the few frusc albums that i havent thoroughly visited. interesting. enjoyable. nothing that blows my mind, but of the quality that i have come to expect from the frusc. i should probably give this album a chance.

3) red hot chili peppers- road trippin - nice acoustic guitar work. nice feel good melody, and a good relaxing song towards the end of californication, which is a great album in my opinion.

4) on the might of princes - the water vs the anchor - a long island band punk band, what i consider "real" music, musicians you can see live in a small setting and actually talk to after a show and say "yo awesome show!". i was young when they were at their prime but at their reunion show at some bar they met me and my younger sister at a dunking donuts before the show because my sister would otherwise be too young to get in and they put her on friends of band list, all around just real genuinely cool people out of the diy music scene. just hearing the songs makes me think of my early teen years, the rebellious spirit i had, and how exciting life was. damn.

5) milemarker - sex jam two: insect incest - what is better than a song about insect sex, tearing your lovers limbs off and shit. milemarker is great, but abrasive at times. you really have to be in the mood for that type of music.

6) john frusciante - life a bath sex is water - probably the most intense music i ever experienced. the emotion is palpable, and although the main lyric may seemingly make no sense, the conviction and rawness of the song makes it really strike a chord in my soul. it was this song and this album in general that i set the standard for all other music. going back though, it is hard to listen to because its just so depressing, you can feel the mood frusciante is going through at the time.
