Okay so we don't know how the Universe came to be. But we do know how we came to be.
I hope by chance you mean the universe and not us. Because we just don't evolve out of chance. As you know, everyone is different to some extent (due to the difference in the genes in different people). And all evolution is that some types of "people"(spices) die off due to a natural change. The remaining reproduce and only those types of people remain (until conditions change again) So its not by chance, it has a reason behind it. By chance you are saying that it randomly occurs.
