no, what he is saying is that your (and a lot of other people's) theory of how "we" came to be is half-baked.
While you are correct in how humans came to be (evolution) this in no way addresses how there is such a system as evolution, how evolution lead to your unexplainable existance, or more importantly how there is anything to evolve in the first place.
So you're right that we know how we came to be, assuming you mean this in the most basic of ways...because we also don't know how we came to be, since we don't have a CLUE as to why there was anything to evolve in the first place.
