With gasoline at four and half a gallon here in the west, showing no signs of slowing, it is time to consider seriously alternative powered vehicles. There are EV's, NEV's and LSV's, in some communities electric golf carts are permitted on the roadway, I myself am currently (no pun) looking into a donor conversion or even a ZAP pick up. On average I travel less than ten miles a day to get anywhere I go, I drive a smoke belching bakery truck an average of two hundred miles a night, I really don't like to travel too much when I'm not working. Kind of like the gynecologist, last thing you want to see on your day off is pussy, but anyway I digress...
How many of you fine upstanding pot smoking pseudo-hippies are ready to trade in your fossil fueled dinosaur from the machine age for an EV or a bicycle or even a greaser, although greasers are beginning to artificially drive up corn prices, the concept and actuality are really cool.
The ZAP Pk, the only fully street legal EV on the market right now that isn't restricted to 25 mph, it will go around 45 miles at 40 mph on one charge...
The ZENN (Zero Emission No Noise), which is an NEV which is regulated to 25 mph and not allowed on streets with a posted limit exceeding 35 mph..
The Corbin Sparrow, which was used by Dominoes Pizza at one time, thus earning the name 'Pizza butt' for the styling they used. It would hold up to six large pies behind the driver. Capable of speeds in excess of 70 mph for twenty or so miles, with opportunity charging you could get up to 60 miles on a charge.
Yea, even the lowly golf cart can see street duty in some places in Southern California as daily transportation...
These are just a couple of commercially available vehicles that you can own and drive today for literally pennies a day when utilizing opportunity charging and even carrying a small solar array for when you park.
So I ask you, are you 'Hookans ready to slow down and save the species?
Are you willing to give up horsepower for peace of mind?
Are you ready to relax and see what it is you're usually whizzing past in your glass and steel boxes?
