Redefine Yourself, Find New Life and New Hope

The chance is always there.

I posted this in another thread, but was thinking about making a new one to discuss happier things.

I once heard, I believe it was the Dalai Lama say that who we are is defined by our habits. And I think that is one of the greatest truths we can remember. Addiction is a habit, and even though you might not think of yourself as an addict, there are plenty of things that anyone could find themselves addicted to. Especially things that involve chemical altering inside your body, such as drugs/marijuana or sex/masterbation, even excessive exercise I imagine could be an addiction.

Though you may think any one of these activities is good and natural, and indeed they are, too much, too often, or for too long of anything and even without realizing it you can become beholden to these habits, feeling trapped and helpless. Feeling helpless and alone in the world has got to be one of the worst feelings you can have, and if your habit patterns are consistent and long term you can be trapped without thinking it, sad without knowing why.

Don't forget the Easter story, even if your not a Christian. There is always new hope and new life, there is always a chance for forgiveness from others and especially from yourself, or even God if you want to go there, and there is always a chance for change.

Redefine yourself.

I also want to discuss more specifically, the effects of excessive masterbation. While its fine and natural, too much of it I think can drain an individual of energy and toughen up the pleasure receptors so that they are not as keen to the little things.
