George Washington DID write a letter to someone once, wherein it said, "Make the most of the hemp seed and sow it everywhere." (And both he and Thomas Jefferson grew it on their plantations). However, he probably wasn't telling people to grow cannabis to smoke up. Hemp was used to make rope, and since ships were the easiest way to get from A to B, and since ships required literally TONS of rope, that was the likely reason behind his advice.
Please learn some basic history, man.
