I used to have an 80 acre horse ranch outside of Peach Springs Az. All off grid, had solar and wind generator chain linked to a bank of 20 deep cycle marine batteries. Propane for hat water and winter heat. All in all a really good system.

I now live in the east and find it amazing how much crap you get when you ask for a permit to up a wind generator from planning and zoning.

They preach to go green, but then you just try and do it!
I'm just sayin'...
