I have a few issues with the dog ownership thing.
I dont think it's a good start to have a dog that you will be dependant on, it's not natural for the dog. It can work, but 80% of the dogs that the pro's start training do not become proficient enough to be a stable assistance dog, and that's after they have been selective initially.
Add to that the pound thing. Most of those dogs have significant emotional baggage and would become a larger problem if cared for by someone with the extent of your disabilities.
I'm not judging you, just replying to what I've read.

im not looking for a dog to become dependant on, just a companion....as the current companions i have are 90% bad influences to begin with, and once youve started a relationship w/ someone, its kinda hard to break it off cold turkey w/ out being a dick about it, and i'm a nice guy...i dont like to put ppl down, and i have a hard time saying no to favors asked of me that I know aren' t too wise to fufill....like i said, im not allowed to have dogs where im living, and the ONLY reason im staying at this old folks home is for medication control as i get prescribed REALLY STRONG painkillers...if i move out, my dad said he'd disown me, so im in a catch 22...i decided to play ball just to keep every1 (but myself) happy.....i guess i could get a fish, but what fun are fish??unless they can do tricks for food like dolphins, im not really into the fish thing....and ppl are allergic to cats, so i cant get a cat either....however, they're are feral dogs that run the park across the st. from my house, and i put food out for them, and occasionally they will let me get close enough to pet them......im a lover, not a fighter, and i dont pass judgement on ppl that i don't know in person (i.e. all of you)....so until you come to vegas and decide you want to kick it, your opinions are just that, you opinions, nothing more, nothing less..
