This is kinda my problem. I'm aware that braggadocio is an element in most hip-hop (then again, so is misogyny), but it in my mind should at least be somewhat plausible. On the album aside from saying how great he is probably more times than he says "young money", he also says that he's up there with Big and Pac. Let's be real here, that should be enough to piss just about anyone with any common sense off. That's actually probably worse than Kanye saying "top five of all time, you ain't gotta remind me."
Geeno, I'd agree with that argument but for the simple fact that it's a bit broad. You could make the same defense of Soulja Boy or Jermaine Dupri. Also, I could party to some Tribe.

But the typical 18-22 yr old chicks I have rolling through simply don't understand it. It lacks the insane glamorous production they're raised on and doesn't hold their attention. Perhaps if I was from a bigger city where people my age were raised on hip-hop of the times i was raised in, they'd be down for tribe and shit. Hell I consider myself lucky to find bitches my age that recall "bombs over baghdad"
A good way to explain why wayne is so great is comparing him to RZA. Jay-Z's moment of clarity explains my perspective on that comparison.
Im also gonna quote slug: ""Half them rappers that consider themselves underground rappers fucking suck," Slug says, while reflecting on his underground icon status, during a recent Toronto promotional appearance.
"And that's why you're underground. That's why nobody's ever going to hear about you. Learn how to get better before you take shots at Sage Francis or take shots at MURS for doing what he's doing, or take shots at me. Get the fuck out of here with that.""

And with shit like wayne that gets those bitches in a good mood, you really can't look at it so deeply. Remember rap these days is also a show and a performance, it's not Strictly 4 My Niggaz shit.
I just simply accept wayne for what he is, i dont really care what people think about him, I'm just a recovering hater trying to help people stop hatin.
