Police
So about five minutes ago I hear a knock at the door. I get up to go look and see who it is, peek out the window, and sure enough, it's a local. My heart drops. Saturday night I had a little run in with some friends, they got disorderly conduct charges but because of my ability to keep a level head I got to go free. Regardless though, they still took my information and checked for warrants etc etc.
So yeah I see her standing out there (the sheriff is a lady) and my initial thought is "Fuck, she's going to ask me about my involvement from what happened Saturday night. I thought this shit was done and over with." So I open the door and ask "Can I help you?". The last thing I want to do is help a police officer but I know the routine having been through it a few times before. She asks if I had heard my next door neighbors arguing or fighting. Boy was I relieved. I said no, I had the music turned up loud and the laundry machine was going. Then she asks if I had ever heard them doing it in the past, I said no, never. Which I never have, the only commotion I ever hear is a when some kids down the street occasionally have a party or something. So I tell her "Sorry I couldn't help." She says "Thanks" and walks away. I breathe a sigh of relief. I was just about to start smoking a fucking bowl too.
But yeah, as long as you keep your cool and act reasonable, cops usually won't give you a hard time. But two run in's in three days is a little more than I'd like to deal with.
Messing with my freedom, is like messing with my emotions.
