Maybe instead of sitting there and listening to them say these things all the time, you should say something. You don't need to be an asshole about, just point on that they should stop saying those things cause it's bad karma, or something like 'yeah and if you keep saying that stuff its going to happen one of these times' etc. etc. Sometimes people don't realize the things they're saying bothers you.
