when i cook with olive oil i tend to put more then needed so that there is enough for the thc to bind with. (i dont have the equipment nor drive to try and test the ratios needed to be compeltly efficient.)
if your weed turned black it means you burned it. the best results ive gotten was from bringing it to a light simmer and stirring constantly. Also i know most people strain out their bud when cooking but chances are there is still a lot of thc in it that could be absorbed in your body if the nug is coated with oil, so just keep it.
also if u have a grinder it really helps to have the buds as grinded as possible.
