question..jar/shake/ratio/ heeelp? *><"."

hey i got a question
ive made butter once, boiling a pound of unsalted butter (does it matter if its salted or not?) then adding an ounce of shake into it, then i kept it on low heat for about 3-4 hours and strained it through a cheesecloth and let it cool till the butter comes out

now since i dont have a scale or nothing, ive been keeping my budin this classico tomato/pesto 700ml jar which looks like this:

and since i dont have acess to a scale really, how much shake should be in the jar till i can do another batch of butter? When I do the 1oz / 1lb unsalted butter thing it lasts me a while. But I just wanna know how much shake in this jar (my shake's pretty fine, no large clumps, mainly residue from the rolling and bottom of the bag stuff (which is still quite a bit).

anywho thanks for any help

ps any good recipes for pot butter, so far ive been just doing add water packets of muffin and cookies and they kinda suck, my wife is more then willing to bake if i can find a good recipe, that fudgy minty stuff.....
