from the trees all
the way to the cityscape
streetlights flaring but
everything else dark

lying dead drunk
on the cold floor
putting out fires of the mind
always, always

oh desolation, what you've
done to us all

this meaningless void
so full and empty at once
at times promising
at times a wasteland
of unused drive

eggshell of youre body
poked and prodded
trying every way
every combination
to unlock the safe
of not... non

desolation youre nurturing mother
youre stern father
youre brother and sister in arms

desolation bringer of
blood and bruises
confusion and wonder
within itself
