cool pix guys. from where did you take that shot LPYW?
i like nighttime photography...it really allows for some extra creativity with the longer exposure time. i finally got a remote for my camera, lookin forward to doing some astrophotography soon. this nerdy shot is from moab recently: nikon d-50 focal length - 18 mm exposure time - 25 s aperture - f/3.5 iso 400 |

I was at the convention center park right under the CN tower. Laid down in the middle of the sidewalk with my tripod on the lowest height possible in order to get it all in. i need my 5D back for the astro photos...the kodak has a 8s exposure limit. i don't know what their offering is for the Nikon lens mount but i have used the Sigma 600mm mirror lens for the Canon cameras. I believe that would give you 900mm with the Nikon conversion factor (1.5x if i am not mistaken) Hit the Bulb feature and 2 minutes later you have a telescope style photo. Lens photo...didn't want to post it in the contest. http://homepage3.nifty.com/3rdpartyl...sigma600mm.jpg Thing costs less than $200 new. Seen it on ebay for about $100. Due to it being a mirror lens and the fact that it is a cheap one at that, the only thing i have found it useful for is long exposures at f/11-16 at night. Everything else comes out with less quality than the cheapest kit lens produces. |

![]() This a picture of a guy I saw in London making sand sculptures....at night. He looked like he really enjoyed spending his time making sculptures, although I would hate to think what happens to his art after high tide.

The river recedes from the banks so much at low tide that it looks like a beach...8 hours later its all covered by 5 feet of water or more.
