snakes

This is my snake thread. If you have snake pics, please post.

Here is a cobra that has moved into the hillside above my house. It's toad season. The guy (gal?) is a beast, probably about 6 feet, though I can't say I've actually stretched it out and measured it.

This is a rat snake I caught in my house. A week before I saw it under the eve of the roof where some birds had a nest.

Come on, gotta be some snake pics out there....

Don't know what this one is. Not one of the region's venemous kinds.

Cool-looking snake. Puts on a show but is harmless.

I'm back from the dead! Just finished a big move, to the house practically next door to my old place. In some ways I'd rather move farther. I ended up packing shittily and now I'm taking forever to unpack and I can't find anything.

Anyway, this is a banded krait, the most venemous snake in my region--15 times more potent than the cobra in the first post. But very shy and nocturnal.

Enjoy. From a distance.

Flamingnun, they're all from Asia.

burn-out, the bamboo viper has a much bigger head, it sticks out like a big spear tip. This green snake does his best to make you think he's a bamboo snake. Funny that in all the years I've been here the pit vipers are some of the only snakes I haven't seen. And there are quite a few of them here.

Kickass snakes guys!

Um, well, my pictures are LAME, but they're snakes nonetheless. I know nothing about it, we came across it while fishing on the river.

That's what I was thinking. I even googled California King, and got a lot of different looking ones, figured I was way off anyway and didn't look further. They're also really common around here.

i touched it too!!

I got my wife a Ball Python for Mother's Day. I'll ask Mrs. Hedons to post some pics of it on here.

Here's a picture of Kaa. He's a Ball Python and he was my Mother's Day gift from Mr. Hedons who refers to him as Mister Slithers.

Oooh, what a pretty snake!! My friend has two ball pythons, he built a HUGE cage for them. They are fascinating. And they love to get out of their cage and just chill on the sofa with us.

Hey baby..

Here are some pictures of snakes I've encountered in the wild.

This is a water moccasin (aka cottonmouth) that swam up to me as I was going for a stroll near a pond.

I saw this rattlesnake on the road yesterday. At first I thought he was dead, but once I got a little closer (from inside my car, mind you) and rolled down my window I saw that he was just chillin' on the pavement. I'm not sure if he's a standard rattlesnake or a pygmy. I do know that pygmy rattlers are pretty common here in Oklahoma, but he looked awfully large to be a pygmy.

One thing I am sure of, he was definitely a rattlesnake. See?

And here are some pictures of my baby girl. She's a cornsnake.

Just look at that sweet wittle face!

Hey baby back at ya!

Wicked shots. What camera are you using? I especially like the first one of the rattler. Beautiful pic! (I'm glad you booted her off the road)
