They are pretty cool, but are they seriously website layouts? I have to be honest, they feel more like the covers to old arcade machines than any kind of web design. They seem very 1990's. And they always seem to be just in boxes, have you ever tried do so something a bit more intricate and full width? Or even a solid background image. And grids never hurt anyone:

You should check out:

CSS GALLERY - Web Gallery & Web Design Resources, Tutorials, Online Community, CSS, jQuery, Mootools, Photoshop, Illustrator, and more.

They have some great examples of really solid design.

You should also check out this site:

Brush up on some of the extras in photoshop. Your designs are pretty solid, but I think they really lack polish and refinement.

Design is about intent. You need more strategy.

What is it?

Who is it for?

Why does it exist?

Are some initial questions. You should be designing for a certain audience, and you should have a desired goal. This will be able to teach you what sort of style or color it should be.

You need to study some history of design and get really excited about it to make something great. Well really just the latter part. You need to be excited about what you're doing.

Why are you doing it? I mean, just messing around is a good enough reason to do anything, I'm not trying to discourage you in any way, shape or form.

That's not my point.

Who's your favorite artist/musician/designer?
