Hey folks, I'm really chuffed to see there's a place for stoners that actually *do* things
I got a dslr a year and half ago and began a self-portrait project (more of which at a later date) but during that year, along with my partner, we discovered urban exploration - finding and getting into abandoned buildings to take pictures...we found a whole community of urbexers who help each other out and have a laugh together both on websites and at real life meet-ups........A huge passion of mine is the old asylums and hospitals...their feel is very different to anywhere else, they seem to hold their history in the walls.
Are there any other urbexers here on Yahooka?
This is a small sample of shots from Hellingly in East Sussex in the UK.
It was almost like walking round some freaky art installation so good is some of the grafitti.
...and last but certainly not least the lovely Bath Lady

hey that's cool...I really should say we don't "break in" these places - that then makes it a criminal offense here in the UK and makes you liable to prosecution, however if you find an open window and climb in it is merely the civil offense of trespass and therefore very unlikely that the Police will be involved.
Leave only footprints, take only pictures.

wow! nice artwork, friend. good eye. i got a laugh out of the "good crack this" and that bathing woman is ethereal. and of course uber with his good films.
round here, you wander into a condemned building all you're gonna get is pics of crackheads, junkies, and/or then mugged.

I wouldn't consider myself an urbexer, but I certainly have been inside quite a few abandoned building's and buildings under construction. It really was fun doing that, but now as an adult, the last thing I want is a trespassing or breaking and entering charge.
Myriasis: "as an adult" I take a calculated risk by getting in these buildings...it's a buzz undoubtedly, it's fascinating too as we also enjoy the research on the history of the places we visit... but the group of us that do it together are old and have far too much to lose by taking un-necessary risks - we've balked at doing some places and walked away because the risk wasn't worth it. .................... .I have tons of pictures from a varied selection of urbexes; industrial, social and military, I'll try and put a few small sets together to show you the sort of stuff we do.
turmaline: there are places everywhere I'm sure if you did a search for "urbex usa" or "urbex [the town or region you're from]" something might just come back. Happy loony hunting

google..but quick response...it's when you tape record in a supposedly haunted building for hours when no one is around, and then relisten to the tape for "PHENOMENON"
