It seems like most of them end with a huge falling out between the two people. There's always this perpetual jealousy factor, even if it's repressed and ignored.

Not to mention, "open relationship" is different than "fuck buddies" because the two people still refer to themselves as boyfriend and girlfriend/boyfriend and boyfriend/girlfriend and girlfriend...or whatever they are.

Thus, I will never try it.

Definitions are lame. I like to stay in a fluid state with my relationships. I never call my girls my fuck buddy, friend with benefits, girlfriend, etc.

Why the need to categorize all this bullshit? Just have fun and stay safe. If I met someone and we were mutually interested in a serious relationship I would find it difficult to be in an 'open relationship'. I say we get that shit out of the way while we get to know each other. If after an extended period of time that we're fucking around we decide that we want to be together, then we can be together. If after an extended time of being together we get interested in group play... well thats open for discussion....

but having her fucking other guys/girls behind my back? Not cool.

My high school girlfriend's family moved to California, so we had an open relationship since we couldn't be together anymore.

I'd tell her about my girlfriend and she'd tell me about her boyfriend, but we still talked all the time, and wanted to get married and have kids.....she got killed in a car wreck, so those dreams are long dashed.

But, still, the point is: We managed to have an open relationship and trusted eachother to still agree to get married and have kids someday when we were both done school and I could move out there.

Obviously we were kinda jealous, but it was better than going a matter of years without sex being faithful for eachother. That'd just be ridiculous.

But, if two people live together and have a need to be apart...their sex must be pretty terrible.

If it's because yuou can't get along, it's because you annoy the snot out of eachother, so you probably aren't meant to be together.

in my exp it never lasts or works to well, as aforementioned jealousy takes over and it doesnt work, orrrrrrrrr, if theres no jealousy involved then at least one of the 2 people feels like 2 much of a slut to just fuck around(well thats the reason given anyway) and pulls out.
