I want to know how you guys feel about making jokes in bed.

What I mean is, when is it appropriate or not, to be making comical comments during sexual activities?

Before I go further, I want to state that the obvious answer is to just feel out the situation for yourself and it should be relatively clear, or you will pick up on it pretty fast if its inappropriate.

However, I still think this could be an interesting topic. I mean, I think that joking around leading up to more intimate moments can be really good and help smooth things out and make you feel good about each other and the experience in general more enjoyable, but there is certainly a line that should not be crossed because it would ruin the moment. I think I would say jokes are appropriate even when right into a situation up until one is pleasuring another, and certainly not when both are engaged. In between aspects of fooling around sure, but in between positions... hmm?

You could also pull the Miami Vice trick. That is a few minutes after starting sex, start moaning heavy and fake an orgasm... then wait and say "Lol just kidding."

it depends on how long you've been with someone. Making jokes the first time you sleep with someone could be a little weird, but if you know someone really well then it's pretty easy to laugh at each other and yourselves. I've been with my girlfriend for quite some time, so when we're having sex leisurely, missionary style we talk to each other about things and generally joke with each other.

Don't laugh about mundane chitchat, it happens in my bed quite often, it is definitely a turn-off for me. I misdirected joke like "whoa, I just got a pube caught in the back of my throat" could increase self consciousness in your partner.

i've been with a few chicks who can make me laugh in bed. a lot of times it'll just be inside jokes and stuffs. i think if the jokes were sexual, like cerebro was saying, that could be uncomfortable and make eachother more self-concious

I enjoy making fun of sex. Why? It's hilarious : the faces, moans, movements...you have to laugh looking at it objectively.

Personally, I really feel good about a partner whom I can do that with afterward--but I can see why you wouldn't want to try it with others if they are on the stoic and humorless side when it comes to boning.

(dirty talk is nice too, unless you don't have a way with words at all)

Not to give tmi, but sometimes (if I am bent over the bed or something), I will start wiggling my hips/butt to the music, in an obvious way. ... It's been known to cause a giggle or two between us.

Nothing wrong with a little intimate laughter with the person you love, or well, at least like enough to fuck...

Well, I've been married for 14 years. Once in a great-great while something will pop into my mind at a very inappropriate time and I'll giggle and so then we'll have a laugh... but it does kinda kill the mood though.
