Meeting partners online?

Hey so, I have always thought that online dating and stuff was really lame and not where I would want to meet people.

However, my brother and some of his friends independently told me about this one site and encouraged me to try it, telling about how they have met people or know folks who have.

I still think its kind of lame, and mostly expect its full of fatties and skanks, but you never know eh, could be some good people out there.

What do you guys think about meeting friends or dates online?

It might make more sense when your older than I am is sort of my thinking.

Well I have a similiar perspective on it then you do(I'm young too). But chances are that the people your going to meet online are going to have a similiar issue, they can't find/approach someone worth interest. I mean I'd say give it a shot if your really looking for someone that much but if it costs money I'd avoid it. Cuz love is free.

my brother met the person he's been living with for the past 10 or so years over the net. not on a dating site though, on a message board.

from my standpoint, the internet multiplies the paths which may lead us to our goal while increasing our opportunity for "the path of least resistance" by a staggering degree. it's worth a shot.

i think that more and more "normal" people are getting into it. especially in the big cities. i'd give it a try if i were you CW.

i met my new lady through a free net dating service and things have been good--at the very least you get to have a glimpse of that person's personality prior to meeting them..it made a lot of difference in my case, all for the better.

I used to think they were kind of stupid but i too am young. but now i kind of think they are are A pretty good thing.

if your not in school of any type it can be hard to meet potential partners. in high school it was easy cause your around them all the time/ kind of know them. a good way to meet people is at bars but if thats not your scene then it's out of the question.

at least with the online sites you know the people on the site are looking for a relationship as to where meeting people in real life you dont know if they are interested in a relationship or not.

Any ways, she put really old pictures up and then she asked if I wanted a hand job at a kids movie. So I left pretty much when that happened. I'm pretty sure that was just a bad incident, but I know that not every one on those sites are all that bad. If you're on it, you can only imagine who else is out there. I don't think I'm going to need to use the internet ever, but who knows with my luck.
I'm pretty confident now, I've always been hard to get along with. I mean, I was really shy. I've learned now that when I don't care, I relax and then I have to beat them off. I am just waiting for now.

I've hooked up with countless chicks on here. It works and its safe from my experience. Just be careful with the chicks that seem like their hot then you meet them and their butt ugly. That can be an akward night especially if she wants a kiss. Before you meet them be positive shes not hiding anything in there pictures

my personal experience is its actually much harder to meet the really good HOT women on dating sites. I'm like a 6, maybe 7 at best but I have really high standards and won't fuck with anything less then an 8. For me, dating websites suck because there's wayy too much competition.. I don't have good looks going for my advantage, so I need to be in an element where It's just me one-on-one with a girl, so I can get her with my game and flyness... e.g., seeing a girl in a store, on the street, when i'm on my bike, bars, etc.. I can walk up to a girl, totally confident, look her in the eye and say something funny to make her laugh... that right there gets me in the door and the rest is my confidence game and swagger that gets them interested.... these are things that do NOT translate onto dating websites so they are just not for me... if you're a real good looking guy then I would say go for it for sure. Or if you have lower standards and don't mind fucking with average girls... My buddy whose a real pretty boy, and gets girls easily with just his looks... met a ton of hot women on that site and bagged a bunch of them.. but his wifey right now is a girl he met IRL

BTW i did use match.com and met a few girls off there... But they sure as hell weren't as hot or mature as the girls I met on my bike or just on the street or in a store... when you stop caring what other people think and have confidence, you will meet women at every turn you make. Try the online thing, but IMO its for suckers w/ no game who will settle for average girls... or good lucking guys that want to fuck lots of different girls.. this is just my opinion after using one of these sites for a solid 6 months, and other people i know using them... I'm in my low-mid 20s btw so that probably matters

I think I'd be more likely to try hooking up with someone here than I would be to use an internet dating service. On message boards, people really show their personalities, rather than just posting a profile full of lies and exaggerations. Plus, you know that you at least have one common interest, in this instance an appreciation for the herb. I've actually had some pretty freaky dreams about a couple of people here.

I'm jumping on the bandwagon with those of you who consider dating websites desperate. Although my aunt did find a really nice guy (who she ended up marrying) through some online dating service. But can you guess why she even started looking on sites like that in the first place? Because she was fucking desperate, that's why! At least that way she was able to meet other people who were just as desperate, lonely, and ready to settle down as she was. And I'm happy for her, it seems to be working so far.

Edit: For the record, I'm not trying to meet anyone here, I was just sayin'.

lol why the hell would you say no to a free handy? Granted girls arent that adept with the joystick most of the time, but it's still funner than holding your own dick.

Dude, it wasn't that I had anything against that. She wasn't tooo bad honestly, it was how she did it though, she brought two of her friends with her and one of mine. They were in the row right behind us, and she had drier hands than mine. So then it was at a kids movie with kids EVERYWHERE. I didn't exactly expect a hand job half an hour into the KIDS movie. I don't remember what it was, but there were kids there.

If my best friend wasn't right above me maybe I would have accepted it.

I've never had many girlfriends in my high school career. I have had a few relation ships, but I don't think I've had a girlfriend for 3 years now? I was really shy in high school for the first two years. I've been working on it and there's been times I've had to beat girls off with a stick.

No but really, I just want to find a girl that I can actually be best friends with. I understand I don't know what is going to happen after HS and what ever girl I find has to know that also.

I've used one free site before (plentyoffish) and it was relatively easy to meet women if you're into it. I'd actually have to say toasty has it pretty well pegged. If you're hot and like to show off, post a bunch of pictures and the girls will just message you to fuck. Otherwise you'll probably just get messages from fatties who are interested in tieing you down.

If you're looking for a nice girl who's good looking and not crazy, i reccomend avoiding the internet dating sites.

All the same, i know of many people who avail of the services and enjoy them frequently. If you're desperate for a fuck you can find one there pretty easily.
