Revenge has a tendency to back fire on you I think. Especially when you are dealing with an already angry intoxicated person. There are plenty of things set up for Canadians to safely leave their situations.
As a matter of Fact, in BC I can get in trouble for knowing there is abuse next door, and not reporting it. ie. If there is an arrest or incident I can have some serious questioning done at me for not calling in. I've actually had to knock on a neighbours door in Vancouver to check on things. The noises from up stairs stopped. Is that the best answer, or is it even one? I don't think, but forcing people to be a good neighbour isn't all bad.
Just mentioning part of the Canadian experience.
Ultimately only Turm will know what is right and safe for her.
