400 agents x $60/hr...
DEA to raid Humboldt County???
6 page thread leading up to the actual raids. Good pics, arts...
Feds are HERE in HUMBOLDT NOW!
* This is the culmination of a two-year investigation.
* This is a bust of “large-scale commercial grows.” NOT medical marijuana.
* Agents from a variety of federal and state organizations — including the IRS and the Postal Service –will be serving 27 warrants.
* He referred to it, perhaps tellingly, as a “commercial grow” — singular. This despite the fact that they are traveling to multiple locations throughout the county.
* The investigation was initiated by a state agency — the California Dept. of Justice. The feds were brought in, he said, because of the financial intricacies of the investigation.
* Why today? Matthews asked. “Gotta pick a day,” the spokesman said.

Major Sting Targets Commercial Grow Op
CN Source: Times-Standard June 24, 2008 California
More than 400 federal and state agents executed search warrants in Southern Humboldt and Arcata today, part of an investigation into what the FBI described as a major commercial marijuana operation.
We're looking at a single group of folks, Schadler said.
The U.S. Postal Service and Internal Revenue Service were also participating. Law enforcement does not plan to file charges against anyone at this stage, he said. Agents will continue to search the properties for hours or even days,

Holy Shit Batman! The FEDS invaded Humboldt!
The goal is to collect evidence, look for evidence of crimes and things that have been purchased with illegal proceeds to support ongoing prosecution efforts, he said.
Say No To Green Harvest
More than 98 percent of all of the marijuana plants seized by law enforcement in the United States is feral hemp not cultivated cannabis, according to newly released data by the Drug Enforcement Administration's (DEA) Domestic Cannabis Eradication/Suppression Program and the Sourcebook of Criminal Justice Statistics.

Your title says it all: there's plenty of money to be made in the WoD. Until the movement to legalize realizes this very simple fact, we're going to continue to face enormous opposition.
Money gets you anything....

I think the title implies the war on drugs is costing money, rather than earning it.
That said, legal regulation and tax ftw.

I know this is fucked up and they have families and shit, but I'd like to see those agents get blown back through the doors of the homes they're invading with 12 gauge slug holes in their bodies. So sick of this, makes me wonder if the only way to take back the country is to pick up my rifle and pop off the revolution. Nothing changes. Makes me sick.

I think the title implies the war on drugs is costing money, rather than earning it.
One trillion spent since 1937 is one trillion earned since 1937.
400 x 60 = 24,000 an hour x 4 or 5 days with over 100 fires burning and not enough helicopters because they're looking for little old ladies pot plants...
I agree it is time for a revolution but in spite of the 2nd amendment being drawn up on hemp parchment. Cops bullets penatrate hemp parchment. Then justifies their violence on anyone. It was known a week ago. I think that's a lot of time to split.
There is no difference between healthy and sick tokers going to cages, it's clearly wrong. But it is also wrong to invade private property or trash public parks for commercial enterprises. Or to gut someones house you rent.
I'm ok with profits since the risk is there. But I'm not into violence even though the cause may be just. Cash and Guns leads to violence. Maybe that's why they call it war. The longest Amrican civil war in history.
It's the people's choice to pay for drugthugs or infrastructure...

Ukiah Forums Mendocino County
In 2000 Mendocino County passed an iniative by the citizens to not persicute anyone for up to 25 plants. Anyone.
The city council immediatly tried to overturn it and found politicians can not overturn citizens initiatives.
So they got some local worriers and cops as citizens to write Measure B, that says about what SB 420 says. 6 plants for medicinal use only. A cop tool to bust healthy people.
Courts overturned SB420 because it tried to change a citizens initiative prop 215. Pretty much what will happen to Measure B. Since state citizens initiatives trump county.
It is all moot since prop 215 is NOT the Medical Marijuana Act, it is the Compassionate Use Act. It does not have a limit to the amount of plants. It does not require a doctors prescription or does it require a certain type of illness or symptom. It was written to keep sick and healthy tokers out of the cages. Period. Just because some want this war to continue they say all sorts of stuff. But it clearly states for any reason. I use it to prevent stress.
Proposition 215: Text of Proposed Law
...or any other illness for which marijuana provides relief.
...upon the recommendation...
''primary caregiver" means the individual designated by the person exempted...

In Texas, I think the dealers got the same idea.
They dress up as psuedo-cops with all the gear,
raid a rival dealers home and take all his dope and money.
There were a shit load last year down here.
COPS AREN'T THE ONLY ONES BUYING BADGES AND POLICE UNIFORMS.
Kids like to play cops and robbers with plastic guns w/ tiny orange tips.
It's just good business.

Eight years ago, voters approved a measure that let county residents grow up to 25 marijuana plants for medical or recreational use, far higher than the state standard of six. Measure B repeals the 2000 measure and returns the limit to six plants.
