Hello Friends,
I finally got my kids books!! This is from the epilogue of the book, by Marsha Rosenbaum PhD.; Nearly 80 million Americans admit that they have tried an illegal drug. many of these former or current users are parents, and the vast majority is in a quandary about what to say to their children about the most widely used illegal drug in the world, marijuana. They want to know how to open a discussion with their kids and most of all how to keep their children out of harms way. ~snip~ Here it is, this book "It's Just A Plant" by Ricardo Cortes is a children's story about marijuana. It is well written, illustrated, and will benefit most adults who believe that it is more than a plant. I just received 5 copies to check out and I ordered more, I have already put them in two different stores, I don't push drugs but I will push this book. I think I might even try the local wal-mart. I am so tired of assholes and frightened ignorant idiots telling me I cannot smoke and grow a simple plant. This is a good way to fight the ignorance that clouds their little heads. GET THE BOOK! especially if you have small children. It can be had, before the storm troopers close it down at It's Just a Plant - a children’s book about marijuana or the magic propaganda mill Anyone who professes to love children should buy this book, really do something for the kids for a change |

Diggin the book idea. But ya made me laugh when ya said ya may try the local walmart. By all means best of luck to ya, but the idea is pretty funny remember they still only sell edited CDs. But if walmart would decide to stock it damn that would be a big step in the proper direction. Keep us posted

I been smokin' for fifty seven years, and every one of those years cannabis was supposed to be made legal in just a few months, I cannot count the number of times i have heard that.
This is an obscure way around the problem, it is coming at it from a completely different angle and it has a chance of making a great impact. If all it takes from me is a few bucks and a little leg work, it is well worth it. I plan on taking the books to my local library tomorrow and giving them a few copies, maybe that will help it enter the mainstream. All walmart can say is no, and I bet I can make them feel guilty for saying it. It's just a book |

Sounds awesome, and in a different world I would probably get it for my kids.. but I don't feel like dealing with the bullshit that has to come with my kid telling his school about it.. Mommy REALLY doesn't want to be arrested. LOL

This is not a "new" book. It has been out a few years now. I'm all for this book being published, but I haven't bought a copy for myself. I say myself because even though I have kids, and even though I sometimes use weed, I couldn't see myself sharing this book with one of my children.
Why? Well, for young kids it's just too much information too soon. The only situation in which I could see exposing young kids to this book is if you have already been open with the little ones. Although I question the wisdom of this. As for ourselves, we've chosen to be discreet with our younger kids. We equate our mj use with our sex lives. There is nothing wrong with either one, but it is inappropriate to share these things with young children. When we do decide to tell them our “dark secret” (as we have with our 17 year old) the kids are far too old for this book to be of any use. We do have the “drug talk” with the kids starting around ten, just as we have the “sex talk” around the same age. But these are not occasions for confession. It seems that “It’s Only a Plant” is a book for people who are more comfortable burdening their children with their adult concerns than we do. Here’s a little O’Riley vomiting out his opinion on the subject:
