pleasant analogy, but what if the bear's actions are beginning to compromise its own well-being? say the bear finishes us off finally, and we had built our fortifications such that it could not escape and will slowly starve to death. that's how i see the relationship of representatives to their constituency, ceo's to their employees, etc. things have progressed to the point that we regular citizens are not alone in our suffering, and if it continues to escalate the end result is clear and promises only the end of civilization as we know it.

anyone, no matter how much power they posses, is still a mortal human being with the same love of life and fear of losing it as any other mortal human being. when that very life becomes jeopardized how someone behaves, don't you expect a change in behavior? if not i can respect that, i'm just not so hopeless.

I'm not hopeless, my hope is that people will one day understand that begging doesn't work, find me a bum who progressed and got out of the addiction and out of the street life by begging for petty change? Thats what we do, we beg for scraps and leftovers, we beg to congress, when congress should be begging us.

The problem is that we forget history, an example: The haymarket incident

Adolph Fischer a reporter was pissed off because the police killed several workingmen in a protest, he was executed, for printing 25,000 copies of this, which is in spanish and I will try to translate it:

Working Men: The war of the classes has started. Yesterday, in front of the McCormick fabric, our fellow working men were executed. Their blood cries for vengeance!

Who can still doubt that the jackals who govern us are thirsty for the blood of the working men? But the workers are not a flock of sheep. The white terror must be responded to with the red terror!(blood) Death is preferable than misery.

If the working men are being executed, lets respond in a way that our executioners will remember for a long time.

The need makes us shout: To arms!

Yesterday, the women and children of the poor cried off their dead husbands and fathers, while in the palaces of the rich the cups were filled with costly wine and they made a toast to the bandits of law and order.

Those who suffer, let us dry our tears!
Have courage, slaves! Stand up!

Yea, but you have to realize you are not actually dealing with a dumb bear who will just starve to death, you are dealing with congress, you are dealing with humans who will just make up a new law in order for us to keep feeding it.

exactly man. . . they are humans with intellect enough to realize they're fucking themselves if they continue to fuck us. it's really that simple imo. it's a matter of circumstance, a simple fact of the social environment we inhabit. what kind of law can be written to change something like that?

I understand we might not even be close, but I love the spirit of these articles.
