Marc Emery to be Taken Into Custody

I can't decide if Canada's Harper is just an obedient sniveling lapdog coward a bit more than Biraq Obomba is gung ho on Imperialism. Harper never busted Marc and could be considered an assessory with full knowledge. Waldo Pee had no problem snatching Americans out of their hospital beds in Canada, no resistance. Now another "example" another family traumatized. More Tax dollars spent caging political prisoners of WoD. This time taking a sovereign citizen out of his native country for no real crime, just to stop a fund raiser and contributor to those against the Ganjawar. Pet shops buy cannabis seeds everyday in the US. McCaffrey tried to bust 17 truckloads and was told hands off. Now Marc faces 5yrs? Knowing it all continues on Nixon's lie and does real harm to real people. In this illogical process of "setting examples". What is the message kids?

TOMORROW - Monday, September 28
- Marc Emery to be Taken Into Custody

Marc Emery will be taken into custody at the BC Supreme Court on September 28. Come and show your support from 9:00am - 11:30am, 800 Smithe St., Vancouver.

No Extradition for Marc Emery!

Discussion about the Drug Enforcement Administration's attempt to extradite Marc Emery, Michelle Rainey, and Greg Williams to the United States of America. All three Canadians face life in US prison for their political activism and financing drug law reform worldwide through the sale of marijuana seeds.

The Drug War Refugees

"Make no mistake: The government's demonization of marijuana is irrational. When I first published a study in the journal, Science, on marijuana's physical and psychological effects back in 1968, I was certain that medical use of the plant would be legal within five years. This is, after all, a medicinal plant for which no fatal dose has ever been established and that has been used in folk medicine for millennia."
~ Dr. Andrew Weil

I wonder how his ass will hold up in prison.

The dude doesn't deserve it. The only reason he was targeted was because he supported and lobbied for medical shit here in the states. It's a shame what Madoff did was way worst and he's staying in a 5 star "prison", while Marc will be sharing cells with Mexican criminals. --Who likely made their living selling the stuff Marc was advocating to legalize.

The Canadian government ought to protect it's fine citizen from the tyrranical arms of US and it's goofball, hypocritical, purely bullshit-based anti-christ law. I'd like to see them "Just say no" to the US and mean it. Why would anyone the middle of a supposed "War on Terror" waste one minute or one nickle's worth of public resource executing a Jihad on a canadian seed business? Would you endorse or follow such leadership?

Marc Emery: Political Prisoner

Marc Emery: Political Prisoner
Marijuana activist and Cannabis Culture Publisher Marc Emery surrendered to Canadian authorities today and was escorted to jail to await a transfer to the United States where he is expected to serve a 5-year prison sentence for selling marijuana seeds. full story

Marc Emery's Sentence Reeks of Injustice
and Mocks our Sovereignty
After two decades as Canada's Prince of Pot, Marc Emery will surrender himself today in B.C. Supreme Court and become the country's first Marijuana Martyr.

Over Grow the Government!
We already pay for 2.2 million Americans in cages,
must we import nonviolent Canadian offenders?

CANNABIS CULTURE

Changing views on incarceration?
DWR: September 28th, 2009 by Pete

So Governor Quinn has decided to release 1,000 nonviolent prisoners in the State of Illinois.

The Chicago Sun-Times, in an editorial, slammed him… but not for releasing the prisoners.

Quinn was right to take the first long-overdue step in Illinois to reduce the state’s massive prison population. Thousands of inmates are no more than drug addicts who could be better rehabilitated in their communities, saving the state millions of dollars.

But he was wrong to slip his announcement into the bottom of a press release late on a Friday afternoon, as the sun was setting and reporters were calling it a day — that twilight time in the weekly news cycle when politicians try to bury their worst potential headlines.

On the contrary, Quinn’s decision to begin releasing some nonviolent offenders is nothing he needs to soft-peddle… Refreshing.

When it was tried in Cali it was ripped apart by 5 governors elected by the Prison and Paraphernalia Complex including the FOoP's. These mirror images of people only see perpetuating the status quo or improving it for more investment opportunities. The answer my friends is blowing in ze vind... building more prisons. Aunuld threatens to release non violent non criminals with non victims. Especially ones who are sick. ooooo....

The founding fathers discovered humans can not be trusted, ever. They must have checks and balances and a Free Press to report the status, not make shit up. Not "trust me" or lies to protect the message to the kiddies. Profit selling humans because we the people let them the untrustworthy humans strip the checks and balances and sell the Free Press to the advertisers and corporations. Our taxes pay for our own censorship and distortions and mostly the red herring diversions. Watch the birdie... We choose to pay more attention and spend more time on unrealistic fantasies and not enough demanding reality.

Prison Industrial Complex Attacks Prop. 5

Any tax paid organization or department has to be neutral. Not elected, tax paid lobbyists against certain tax payers. DEA propagandists in a Free Society? Who are they protecting? If the majority want them to stop "protecting" some citizens they UnConstitutionally deem fit to persecute. Land of the Judge Jury and Executioner saving us from a young mother holding her baby. Or a 92 year old desperado in her bed. 12,000 in Mexico, 6000 in thailand and thousands as slave labor for US business. Caging seniors for growing pot.

When the Police disregard the medicinal, hemp and lowest priority laws that curtail their confiscations, forfeitures, cash, and cars for the picking. It should red flag an alert to stop it from wasting any more time and taxes. What is the point of any law if cops arbitrarily enforce what they want or are told. The private prisons, construction and the materials, mostly synthetic alternatives to Hemp that are sold. Youbetchya its Big Biz selling the drugs war.

Obama said we need one big thing to put people back to work... and we know what the hell it is. We need healthy people as well as health care and we know what is spewed from stacks and reactors and OPEC crude isn't healthy, and we know of a perfectly safe vegetable every town could grow and produce and manufacture into thousands of products. What is the problem? Paraphrasing FDR, if you want this your going to have to make me do it. Too many vested ignorant to take it on by myself. This Ganjawar band aid portrayed as stopping further infection is really just hiding festered pustules rot.

Reeks of Injustice and Mocks Our Sovereignty

"There is a point at which the law becomes immoral and unethical. That point is reached when it becomes a cloak for the cowardice that dares not stand up against blatant violations of justice. A state that supresses all freedom of speech, and which by imposing the most terrible punishments, treats each and every attempt at criticism, however morally justified, and every suggestion for improvement as plotting to high treason, is a state that breaks an unwritten law."
- Kurt Huber,
[The head of White Rose], killed by the Nazis in 1943.

Prince of Pot’s Sentence
Reeks of Injustice and Mocks Our Sovereignty
Ian Mulgrew, Vancouver Sun

Emery’s Jail Term Longer Than for Some Violent Crimes [...]

It is a legal tragedy that in my opinion marks the capitulation of our sovereignty and underscores the hypocrisy around cannabis. [...]

He is being handed over to a foreign government for an activity we are loath to prosecute because we don’t think selling seeds is a major problem. [...]

“There isn’t a single victim in my case, no one who can stand up and say, ‘I was hurt by Marc Emery.’ No one.”

He’s right again.

Emery is facing more jail time than corporate criminals who defraud widows and orphans and longer incarceration than violent offenders who leave their victims dead or in wheelchairs.

Whatever else you may think of him — and I know he rankles many — what is happening to him today mocks our independence and our ideal of justice. continued...

DEA Release Admits Marc Emery Extradition Politically Motivated
The US Drug Enforcement Administration admitted on the day of Marc Emery's arrest that his investigation and extradition were politically motivated, designed to target the Marijuana Legalization organization that Emery spearheaded and ran for over a decade in Canada.

Jodie Emery Speaks Out on Her Husband's Imprisonment
Jodie Emery, Publisher and Editor of Cannabis Culture, hits the television airwaves to demand freedom for her husband Marc Emery, who was imprisoned yesterday for selling marijuana seeds.

Damn Them All by Loretta Nall
Yesterday my close friend and mentor Marc Emery was taken into custody in Vancouver, British Columbia to await extradition to the US for selling pot seeds over the internet from Canada.

U.S. DEA Finally Gets Its Man by Paul Armentano
Just over four years ago, former U.S. DEA administrator Karen Tandy announced to the world that her agency had struck “a significant blow … to the marijuana legalization movement” by indicting Canada’s so-called ‘Prince of Pot,’ Marc Emery. [...]

But lets not kid ourselves. Marc Emery was hardly a high level target because he sold marijuana seeds to the U.S. — a simple google search will yield dozens of listings of competitors that presently engage in similar activities. No, it wasn’t so much what Marc did [...] as it was what he did with his money that aroused the ire of U.S. anti-drug officials.

It’s all how you report it by Pete Guither
A couple days ago, I gave you a bunch of links about the drug policy conference held in El Paso last week. With the last minute dropouts of the Drug Czar and the Border Czar, the conference had turned into a predominately reform-minded group, including LEAP, SSDP, local officials, and others, with admittedly varied views on the degree of reform, with the exception of one DEA rep. continued...

This article gave some sense of that…

Pathetic
The Coalition for a Drug Free California had a daylong conference to discuss how to stop marijuana dispensaries.

Or don't even bother to report it...

Don't even recognize Ganjawar PoW's exist. Refugees flee from barbaric US authoritah, caging the sick and their health care providers. Canada ain't so quick to take them in like the draft dodgers. Stands by mum, snatching them from their hospital beds to extradite to jails in the states. For treating their illness or growing some plants, proven less harmful than what is legal. Vast Right Wingnut Reefer Worriers, Mad with intentions, get more favorable press from the, ah, "liberal" media. Banning research, commercials and ONDCP gag orders might be a hint. Coincidence this war pays so much. Corporate holdings in competition would never slant a free press to side with gobbledegook. Yet they do. For if they don't it might harm the message to the kids they hide behind like cowards... DdC

The Shafer Commission
After reviewing the scientific evidence, President Nixon's Shafer Commission said it was "of the unanimous opinion that marihuana use is not such a grave problem that individuals who smoke marihuana, and possess it for that purpose, should be subject to criminal prosecution."

Between 1969 and 1977, government appointed commissions in Canada, England, Australia, and the Netherlands issued reports that agreed with the Shafer Commission's conclusions. All found that marijuana's dangers had been greatly exaggerated. All urged lawmakers to drastically reduce penalties for marijuana possession, or eliminate them altogether.

he did act like he was above the law
but at the same point he was standing up for what he believed in so it's commendable

from what i heard in the vancouver scene he's still into other party drugs like exctasy and shrooming and shit, and not that there's anything wrong with that but when you want people to take you seriously with the marijuana party that kinda stuff isn't helping you.
