Morphine Drug Testing!

Heres my situation. I had taken a 60mg Morphine Sulfate 4 days ago. Today I had a drug test and was informed it would be sent to a lab :< He asked if I was on any medication and I said I had a perscription for Codeine. Thinking that opiates break down into Codeine? Will the Morphine show up? Would I get away for saying it was codeine I consumed. How exact are the lab test?

Your body metabolizes codeine to morphine but I think only about 10% of it. So you would expect someone taking codeine to test positive for morphine. However it might also be possible for them to see the codeine that wasn't metabolized into morphine.

I would guess you are probably going to be alright but I don't know for sure.

Detection periods for other drugs are much smaller than for marijuana. It only takes 24-48 for morphine to clear out of your system. Check it out at Erowid Drug Testing Vaults : The Basics. Good luck anyway!
