Number1 expiration?

I have a drug test tomorrow and I have an un-used Number1 that is probably 2 years old. The box says 1 year shelf life but I don't have time to order a new one. The synthetic urine looks kinda darker but I'm thinking of mixing it with some of my own diluted urine. Why do these expire? Why can't I still use it after a year?

Nevermind I found some Quickfix at a headshop.
