Hair test timeline

Hello everyone I am looking for some advice as I am stressing over passing a hair test for a new job.

I have decided that I am going to play it safe and quit smoking until after I get the job and pass the hair test. I have been a daily toker for the past 5 years and just stopped 1 week ago today (8/20/08).

I know hair tests see back 90 days (30 days every 1/2 inch of hair). I shaved my head 2 days ago and have been drinking lots of water and cranberry juice in an attempt to clean my system. But I know that the hair that grows under the head would still be "tainted" so if shaving again in another few weeks, or a full month would my hair from then on out be clean and test negative?

I have not applied for the job yet but I know for a fact they do hair testing, using this method could I be clean in under 90 days? Cutting the hair away that would be "tainted" and allowing fresh hair to grow

The main question here would be how long does it take for THC to deposit into your hair after you stop smoking?

The answer to your question is the by-products will keep depositing into your hair until you however long it would take you to normally piss clean on abstinence alone.

Also, the water is just going to make you piss more but the problem is THC isn't water soluble. Drinking more water doesn't get it out of your system any faster it's just going to make you uncomfortable pissing all the time.

You want to test clean without any chance of being detected? Stop smoking and exercise and eat your dark greens (spinich and such) and light greens. Eat your grains and keep your fat intake as low as possible. In about two to three weeks (unless you are on the VERY large side...then allow up to 45 days)shave your head and let your hair grow out.

Now wait 90 days and then take the test.

The other problem is you forgot if they decide your hair on the top of your head is too short just by eye-balling it's length, they can take hair from your arm-pits, chest, arms or legs, or even your pubes. Uncomfortable as it is, you are going to want to shave ALL your hair and let it grow out just to be safe. Don't believe me? Check the Stick post at the top of this sub-forum dealing with hair tests. Most testers will take hair from these other places if they can't get some from your head. Some companies require the hair test and only a hair test (i.e. the company taking the test will not take urine if you can not produce enough hair) because they know how people tried to get around it before.
