Miracle grow

I just bought miracle grow all purpose plant food 20-20-20. My plants just sprouted and I plan on using this in 2 weeks was this a good choice for plants just starting out.

Sounds about right. If there are multiple sets of directions, follow the ones for "indoor leafy plants".

I wait till around week 3. I also make the first feed 1/2 strength.

I also use a 20-20-20 through most of the grow, ending with a 0-50-30 in week 5 of bud being the last feed.

Are those numbers usually representative of the amount of either N P or K in the mix?

Mine says 5:1:4m does this mean I have less of NPK than if it was 10:2:8?

Or or they just guidelines to show how much is in compared to the other parts?

Yes. 5-1-4 has less Nitrogen than 10-2-8 but has more Phosphorus and Potassium. 514 is low dose imo for veg, as is 1028 for flowering.
