New grow. Competition

Yesterday A buddy of mine was nice enough to provide me with 5 seeds of three different strains. The only strain I know I have is blue berry, the other two are unknown but guarenteed to be dank. Today I threw em into a small pot with some miracle grow potting soil for germination. Now there is one big thing about this grow. I have been challenged by my dad. He says he can grow a better more potent bud from bag seed. He says it doesn't matter what you got . it's how you grow it. So I want to know who is up to the task of walking and guiding me through this wonderful cycle of life of this plant. I have only 3 grows under my belt. 1 didn't bud. the 2nd budded but i got to anxious and harvested early. and the 3rd is drying in my attic. So I have a littel experience. let me know.

Alright so we have come to day two. I confess I thought alot about the growing area and have decided to just grow 2 of the 5 for now. The grow area is going to be a mixture of indoors and outdoors. gona be one of those that i leave outside all day and bring in in the evenings. I have done some research on the bluebery and oh man!
supposedly this plant grows short and stout. I also read alot of good things about the quality and potency of the bud. Right now I have nothing else to do. Here is where im going to be growing the ladies. the back right corner get sun all day. I figured i could keep this thing trimmed and trained to keep it low. I'm going to put up a couple windshield visors with mylar backs against the fences to keep eyes out of my patio. Also I have a bunch of tomatoe plants already growing that I'm using as a plant shield as well. Any ideas just let me know. The pick was taken early so it's not so sunny out. but trust me that back right corner is nothing but one big huge sunny spot all day .

Not really. I figured it is going to be a well trained plant. real low but real real wide. Those that do walk by are potheads. ALso afraid to fuck with me. Anyways I have some pretty good ideas on hiding this thing. my grill plays a huge part as well as a patio table i have. and TOMATOE PLANTS! Also keep in mind this is just until i get my 250w HPS. Can't even see inside the fenced area.

Alright, so the plants wont be flowering out there?
The forethought you are putting in is a good idea.
Mylar would help, but would catch wind, so needs to be fixed well. The natural camo is a good idea also.

o0k check this out. i could grow under the rack at the bottom and scrog it through the bars. hell maybe i'll even flower outside, then i could have like 20 rows of maybe 3 or 4 tops. notice the tomatoes have gotten a head start so they will be nice and big for when they will really be needed. I figured i could velcro the visors the the fence. I went ahead and made a pass on the sidewalk outside the fence and you cant see over or under and you have to be completely parralelle to the gap your trying to look through to see in. which is not going to be a problem with the visors in place.

I`m a bit concerned that your plants are gonna be a bit obvious, from smell if not from sight (if they bud well they`re gonna smell). Go ahead if you think it`s ok but be aware of the risks... I would consider vegging them there (maybe) but certainly not flowering. Even if you`re not worried about the law you don`t want your plants getting stolen just before you`re gonna harvest them.

yeah your right. I was thinking of just vegging outside and flowering inside. good looking out though. I'm getting a 250w hps this weekend. I have a nice setup in my attic. I'm just worried about heat up there when may june kicks around. I'm thinking more and more each day about scrogging this grow. what does everyone think.

The heat WILL be a problem.......unless you can rig an AC and ventilation....

Air movement will be essential (ie a fan), extraction and a fan is better and extraction with a carbon scrubber(to remove the smell) better still. If it`s hot were you live you could use a/c but seems like a lot of kit unless you`re really serious. Depends how much money you have to spend and how hot it is where you are. I`d tend to go with the options which are free/cheapest at first. You can always take some clones as insurance before you move your plants under lights in case they get fried.

if you're using a space with daytime heat problems make the day time your night cycle and the night time your day cycle as a means to distribute heat better, all my (indoor) summer grows are done thusly

Well it gets about 90+ degrees up there im guessing. Last grow I would open the door to the attic and suck in the cooler air from the house. The only thing was it wasn't summer. Not that winter was much of a cool off for us here in florida. I think I will go nightime light time generic. I'm ordering my 250 watter today. OK so what do you guys think. I only germinated 2 plants for this one. Should I grow em both and clone em? Or should I grow em all the way to harvest? I still have 3 more awsome seeds. I am really leaning towards harvesting them but I am also thinking SCROG if thats the route im going. You guys I have a cam. feel free to ask for pics of specific things that may come to mind that you would like to get an idea of what im working with. I want to kick my dads ass in this. I also really want a successful grow. My last one was pothetic. ended up using the whole thing for honey oil, even that got screwed up by my neighbor. hey giles would a fabreeze air purifyer from walmart work at all for smell. If not where can I find the carbon things and how much am I looking at speniding. thanx guys and girls. By the way here are some of the lights im thinking of buying. which would be good for my attic grow. set of 4 LED grow panels, each panel has 225 leds for the combined total of 900 LEDs red and blue, and a 250 watt HPS. which one? let me know ASAP cause im buying today.

I've gotten into the habit of taking cuttings whether I'm ready for them or not bro, a plant will sit under low light in like a stasis period, or on hold, or paused for weeks, and trimming is part of the scrog process anyway, may as well root those trimmings.

So when I cut these clones. should I cut like 30 of em and let em develope roots then throw em straight into flower? will it give me like a tray of little popcicle buds or am I going to have 30 big flowering plants. I could do a tray of popcicles but Cant handle more than 2-4 plants.

popsicle budding is good, but hard to predict the right space between plants

got a mate who does popsicle buds with a tray and aeroponic box underneath, (awesome results btw)

probably better at this stage of your learning to stick with simple, just grow 2 under your 250 W light, (being watchful for male characteristics)

Ok sweet. Now should I get the 250 watt or the 900 led red and blue grow light which will cut back tremendously on heat? and quite possibly space as well.

at my stage of growing bro, I'd experiment with the LED

operative word being experiment

personal choice for this one
