cloning clones

hey all, ive got a quick question... heres the scenario.

ive got some clones that i took off a nice mother plant a few months ago. the plants are getting pretty big, a little over a foot tall right now and starting to branch out pretty well. my plan is to put them outside in a few weeks when the weather is right.... either way, i was thinking that i could take some more clones off of these clones, then i would have just enough time to root these in good before the weather was ready for them to go outside. however, i have talked to a few grower friends in the area, and they say that if you take a clone off of what is already a clone, those "double clones" will turn hermie every time. idk if this is an old wives tale or what, but it seems like it could make sense. just wanted to know if anyone has tried this before and weather it was successful or not. thanks.

your friend is either an idiot or just fucking with you. "Double Clones?" Where the fuck do people get this shit?

Strains are kept alive and spread by people cloning clones.

the strain I grow is over three years in my care and heading into it's tenth year from seeds, so we'd be onto the 40th round of cuttings at least, not a hermie in the batch

the guy that told you about double cuttings is the guy selling seeds, right?

All I've heard is that you can lose 'vigour' as you continue to clone from clone. But that is mainly a trait of pure F1's from seed anyways.

If you clone clones for ever then eventually you get dwarfism but you have to repeat clone a lot of times. Even then you get a kinda cute bonsai plant. I generally have problems running out of headroom in my cabinet anyway so I could do with some dwarfism.....

if this "theory" was correct the strain I grow would be about three inches in full bloom

I don't know, do I have a reputation in these parts as a bullshitter?

Sure, I'm an occasionally angry cunt, but a bullshitter?

Look, I take cuttings from the same stock repeatedly without ill effects, have done for many years. The guy I got the older of the two strains from sprouted it from seed well over ten years ago and has run constant cuttings ever since.

allowing for full maturation of the mother plant each time, ie the thing needs to be a big fat bitch ready to head, you will not get deterioration

maybe I should say that just one more time to ensure the truth is the perpetuated information instead of just a half arsed theory from some kid who never grew squat

my main strain has seen no deterioration in quality, or quantity since I got it from my mate who grew it for years before sharing it with me

I know of many other strains of similar age and lifestyle which never change in strength or appearance that are perpetuated through cuyttings and not seen a seed in years.

Do you get it yet?

No deterioration.

Hey, you know what else, I haven't grown breasts after a concerted 25 year effort to get a nice set to play with. The government put out the misinformation that I would grow breasts if I smoked pot, so I smoked like a chimney hoping for some one on one tittay time.

I don't know who's spreading the misinformation about deterioration, (I suspect its probably just dickhead ignorance as opposed to any commercial conspiracy), but I'll say it one more time for the record, you do not get deterioration by taking cuttings using a new mother plant from each batch of cuttings.

Now somebody in authority close this motherfucking thread before my caffeine buzz wears off and I'm forced to reply to the next moron who claims otherwise.
