CO2 Generators

Has anyone used a propane or natural gas CO2 generator? My husband and I are seriously considering buying one for our grow room. We think that in the long run it would be more economic for us than using CO2 tanks and having to drive 50 miles round trip for a CO2 tank to be filled. I am really interested to find out if any of you have used them and what you think before shelling out $400+ for a generator. Thank you for any input.

Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is one of the easiest ways to accelerate plant growth. Plants grown with supplemental CO2 can produce up to 40% more flowers or fruit. A propane or natural gas CO2 generator is the most cost effective way to add CO2 to your environment. Many greenhouses use CO2 generators to boost CO2 levels safely and economically.C.A.P. has developed some of the safest and most reliable CO2 Generators. (499.00)

I'm interested in finding out more about these models........

I had an idea, you don't have to run along with. Depending on how big your grow room is, if it is little I would say that you could brew wine/ale and let the C02 exhaust into your grow room. No idea on the efficenciy of this, though all you need is a storage thing filled with your alchohol mix + matching yeast, a tube, and an airlock(could be a one gallon jug). No idea on the output of C02 or anything like that but it might save you some trouble and some drinks if you do drink! just an idea..

Yes, I have tried dry ice. Have to drive 55 miles one way for it at $1.00 lb. My grow room is 8x12. I used the CO2Boost Bucket last time. And, Pharm Girl, the description you gave is word for word in my catalog...for the exact one that I am looking at ,
a GEN-1 for propane with 1 burner for $409.95. But has anyone tried one?

the most i would pay for dry ice is 20cent/pound for this application. you would need a few 20 pound blocks (maybe 2 or 3 depending how you store them) each week
