Air conditioning?
I've got 5 plants in veg right now. I have them in a closet with a 400w light. I had a big problem with the heat and put an air conditioner in. The temp is fine now, but the air from the conditioner is the only source of new are the plants get. Is that going to be ok for them or should I make a special effort to give them outside air as well?

You need to extract the heat. I don`t know what your ambient temperature is but you need extraction. Bigger fan, or vents to allow air to get in. Whatever you need extraction. Take the heat out. If you`ve already got fans pulling air out maybe you need to drill holes in your cab, otherwise you need a bigger fan.

Exhaust and intake are vital to a plants development.
How many cfm's is your exhaust/intake fan??

the exhaust fan is an 8" 500 cfm fan. I just have a hole in the door for the intake, and a small fan in the closet. The closet is small, about 3'x3'. The temp is fine now, plants seem to be doing ok. I dont know if they are getting enough co2...

is your air conditioner a portable, or do you have a window in your closet? it is important to know where your A/C is drawing air from, and how often you are running it.
and where does the exhaust (your 8" should be plenty) go? as long as your intake is low, and your exhaust is high, you should have plenty of usable co2 floating around in your box. but if your passive intake isn't large enough, your 8" won't be able to do its job and this could be part of your heat problem to begin with.

I have a window air conditioner - it is in the room that the closet is in. The closet door stays shut and there is a hole in the bottom of the door pulling the cool air in. The conditioner runs on nd off all day (thermostat controled).
The exhaust is vented outside. |

Sounds to me like your set up is good man although it will need to be as your space is quite small for a 400 watter.
