Flushing????

Hey, I'm new to this forum. I have a few grows under my belt, but I still have ALOT to learn. My first question is this.. I am currently soil growing in my house. everything is going well but I am confused in a area. I heard that two weeks before you harvest, you should flush all of the fertilizer out of your plant. The mixture of soil I am using is VERY rich in natural ferts...Bat guano, worm castings and the list goes on. during the flowering stage, I am giving my palnts a few lite doses of ferts to help in the blooming process. My question is>> Should I still flush even though I am not adding much fertilizer?
how is it possible to flush something that is naturally in the soil? Iam a bit confused about all this.

PS The fertilzer Iam using is all organic!!!!

Personally, I use H20 that has been sitting for 24 hours the last 14 days or so.
There are flushing products that do the trick.............

One question to start...........is the guano, the flowering or vegging one??

Personally I think flushing is overrated. Maybe it helps, but if you have happy and healthy plants, don't rock the boat. On overgrow there was a dude who said that using H20 was way bad because it kills all kinds of happy bacteria in the soil.

But really, if you've got good looking plants, radically changing things during flowering probably isn't going to help a ton.

If your plants are underfertilised or not fertilised at all
I wouldnt be flushing them.
But even with moderate fertilisation do a good flushing ,let them some days and harvest your pure crop..

Yeah it`s not as critical if you`re using natural ferts. I`d still give `em a bit of a flush with water (stood for 24hrs like PG said) during the last week or so- I think it will give a better taste as any nutrients that there is a surplus of will be washed away.

Why would water kill bacteria?

Send a message via AIM to guerillaeric
next time you grow you should try using soil with no natural fertz in it and add your own nutrients and fertilizer depending on which stage of growth your plant is in, im sure you already know which are needed XD and during the last two weeks of flowering stop adding the fertilizer and nutrients and it should be fine thats what ive been doing with my plants and there havent been any issues HOPE I HELPED ;]

you only need to flush if you have used any spray, pesticide or fertilizer two weeks before harvest blah blah blah

if you do not use any type of chemical's whatsoever then you neednt worry about flushing. just water regularly and hold off watering 2-3 days before harvesting.

(use H2O that has been treated with reverse osmosis) *nocrap :P

The natural ferts in your soil get used.
