Mold

I've heard a lot of talk lately about mold on buds, and it's been brought up in the passed. I'm not sure i've ever gotten any bud that was moldy, but just to make sure, could one of you post a picture of mold on Marijuana.

If I can try to give you a bit of advice, I'd say that you will most likely know mold when you see it. It doesn't look right, sometimes doesn't smell right - certain types harder to see, while some look like cotton or spider webbing.

In other words, if you have come across it, don't smoke it, sell it, etc. Accept your losses, toss it in the shitter and buy more pot. Hope that helps.

really depending on who you buy weed from,
if you get it from a decent source and take decent care of it from the time you get it till you smoke it you should never have to deal with it.

A: Yes, this could be potentially dangerous. Molds are fungi, and some species of mold can produce highly toxic chemicals. Even if you remove all the mold that you can see, the chemicals they produce could be spread throughout the Cannabis. There's no practical way to identify whether the particular mold growing on your Cannabis is toxic or not, but burning and inhaling the smoke of potentially toxic mold isn't worth the risk.

The only thing you can do is throw the Cannabis away. If it was growing mold, chances are it would not have been very good smoking material anyway. Making sure that Cannabis is thoroughly dry before storing it should help prevent against mold.

Probably the primary acute danger with smoking cannabis that has molded is allergic reaction. Many molds produce chemicals and contain cells that can cause severe allergic reactions. The second danger is that a toxin produced by the mold would have a lingering damaging effect that would not be immediately identifiable. Your health is worth more than it would cost to buy more.

You can get mold spores in you, i had mold in my lung once and had to take medication for it, but it wasn't from smoking cannabis, i breathed it in.

Not only is moldy weed bad for ya but it frequently appears for the grower when the buds begin to form and become semi dense. The grower removes the moldy bud and then proceeds to chop down his plants which are 75 per cent complete. The bud is usually a nice young lime green and as it dries the buds become a little tighter. This gives people the impression that it is some kind of "Good " weed and the growers sell it to fools who go by color and texture as their way to judge weed. It has low THC content and is covered in Mold spores which never germinated. Always "Test" before buying any Very green colored weed. Fully matured weed will usually have dark hairs running through the bud and fat little resin glands waiting to burst forth their brownish goo!
