S--T--R--E--T--C--H--I--N--G problems

My buddy gave me a couple germinated seeds the other day but i didnt have anything set up to grow them. I just put them in soil under a 25W cfl bulb and 3 days later im left with plants that have 4 inch long stems with the cotyledon leaves and the 1st set of "true" leaves at the top. Im guessing its cuz i dont have the right lights. what kind of cfl works best? I have a 25W bulb for an aquarium and the box says it is daylight spectrum, will this help?

Put the light closer.
A couple of inches away is fine, if you notice leaves drying and getting brittle you are too close.
The CFL is the way to go for veg, unless you have the room for HID.

I moved it so its 2 inches away from the top. should I re-pot into a bigger container so I can bury some of the stem with dirt?

If you bury some of the stem with dirt it won`t do any harm and it will help support the plant.
