Why are my buds so small?
What's goin on
I got a closet grow setup goin on not to big for flowering I have a 250w hps system for a grow area of 1.3x 2.5ft I have three of my clones that have been flowering for 14 - 18 days the strain is GDP although it has thin leaves like a sativa... I am giving them a hardware store cheapo 0-10-10 fert and I've invested a bunch with electricity and hardware but it just doesn't seem like I'm getting the best result I can... I spend alot of time in my garden and I really want to produce some quality medicine but I haven't gotten what I'm looking for Any help or Info is greatly apreciated |

You say you've been flowering for 18 days but it takes a usual50-60 days for most common varieties. Most of the thickening and denseness comes in the last two weeks. Obviously the closer the light the more energy the plant will absorb. Heat issues will slow bud growth also, so watch that lamp.
Nutrients- if you want to be cheap, go to a fish/pet store and ask them for a bag of water from a fish tank. Tell them you are starting a tank and want some starter water with the right bacteria and aging. They'll give it to you for free hoping for a future customer. Plants go nuts on this stuff.

grand daddy purple?
These guys are right, too early yet to worry about yields Not that we all don't do it.If everything runs well yield should be good. Some plants provide you with wicked potency but not much yield to be sure. Some provide both, and some neither. Good luck to you

Thanks for all input!
I think I am worrying a bit too much... Everyday I see new calyxes... The reason I was worried was my leaves have already got some beautiful resin glands forming small still but I can tell whatever the yield it will be potent! I picked up a GDP clone that I mothered and took clones off of herthe plants are about two feet tall and are beuatiful bushes this is my first flower with my new light so I think it should be sweet As for fish water... Does that really help? Without adding a fishy taste? Sounds like an awesome idea As for pictures... I'm on my phone right now but I will hop on the comp and send some farmer Dandaweedman helpful Info as always appreciate it |

Oh shit
I watered my mommas yesterday and gave them a bigger dose of my 0-10-10 fert I woke up today and the top half of the fan leaves curled leaving them looking like spiders and there is some burning on the leaves I find it very hard to believe that the light is close enough to do the damage that was done... I was wondering if I should cut off all the curled and look bad leaves? Or will that further stress my baby Also is it possible that my fert did this in combination with heat? |

That sounds like a heat build up issue, not fert burn. Do you have a fan blowing cooling air across the plant to disperse heat build up? You can cut off any dead leaf but the heat shock may stun the plant for a few days before growth resumes.
If you are worried about fert burn also, you can flush the pot with just straight water in a heavy dose, which will leach most of the extra fert through to the bottom of the pot. Make sure the pot has good drainage or wet roots and root rot can become your next problem. Fishtank water is like the tears of Angels to a pot plant. It contains so many micronutrients that the plant literally gorges itself like a fat kid lost in the twinkie factory.
