Stupid question - Watering

When watering plants, would it be best to use filtered water from the fridge, and let it sit out long enough to lose the chlorine and chloramine?

edit: to satisfy curiosities I'm watching a plants for a friend that had to leave town suddenly. I haven't gone over to see if he has instructions or materials laid out, I'm just curious.

I let my water sit 24 hours before using.

How's the ppm's of said water??

I once lived somewhere where they were over 1200.

Now they're at 60.

Thanks! I'm not sure about the water content. Seems like it would be a good idea to have knowledge of such things though, for all purposes.

Same as PG here. Had problems with the chlorine before so we always make sure to leave it for a day or two with no lid.
And we have no idea of the PPM of our water.
