upside down

has anyone ever attempted growing a plant, indoors, on its side?

since lst requires the main cola or w/e to be below the rest of the stem, wouldnt this create a nice bushy plant?

maybe easier to transfer nutes to the ends of the plant?

or upside down?

idk where i saw it, but there was some commercial where they were selling some upside-down hanging pot to grow tomatoes..

it makes sense because the nutrients are being pulled up from the roots, let gravity do its job and the nutes move faster up (or down) the stem

would you want to put a light below the hanging plant so it grows downward?

sounds like it would work, but im not feeling very experimental right now lol... maybe ill save this for a future project and post the results on here

lol! yeah man i was watching the same commercial with my homey and we were thinking just the same thing... really more of a novelty idea but.

would be interesting I guess, I can't see why it wouldn't work. I would be more worried about the ability of the upside-down-thingy to support the weight of the plant (i wouldn't want one of my babies falling and smashing on the ground) than any affect the orientation would have on the plant's growing or w/e

that would be like teaching a dog to meow
it could probably do it, but that's not what it's supposed to do
water: it's in the soil, and the plant
it is most definately effected by gravity
it is mostly absorbed via the roots, turning the plant upside down pushes that water away from the roots
the workload placed on the stomates in the leaves, i can hardly imagine
if you look at the plant as like a house absolutely covered with solar panels
fuck your carbon emissions, that shits self sufficient, it doesn't need your help pumping shit around, but turn it upside down and dont be surprised to see shit come out of it's mouth.

people grow hanging plants like cherry tomatoes because its more convenient/space saving or its a novelty. certain plants are meant to be hung.

plants dont need nor could they benefit from gravity by being upside down, if anything it would just be more of a strain.

it could work and is an interesting idea, but i dont think marijuana lends itself to hanging nor would it benefit.

because the nutrients are actively transported up the main stem, hanging would make it easier for the plant to send nutes towards the buds so they should get bigger/ danker

i think it needs to be done

Plants don't grow up just because, they grow towards light, so if the light is on the floor the plant will grow towards it(down), so no they wouldn't turn up and grow. they will surely be affected by gravity seeing as the branches will have to support the wight from the wrong angle, but this could actually be a plus, cause the plants would grow more compacted, saving space.

Don't take my comment as a fact, Im just speculating here...

what transports water and nutrients up the stem is a passive osmotic gradient that is high in the soil at the roots and low at the leaves so gravity would not affect this. just because you flip something over will not make it grow better, especially when its adapted to growing right side up.

people do forms of agriculture where plants hang but as i said before it is with types of plants that are naturally good for hanging.

^ not entirely true tk, water is transported via the osmotic gradient("proton pump") into the roots, then transpiration from the leaves serves to "suck" the water up the xylem toward the top of the plant. this is a passive process.

nutes, on the other hand, are ACTIVELY transported within the phloem in multiple directions to all parts of the plant, meaning the plant expends energy doing this.

im not saying it will work with pot but i think it would at least be worth some expirementation to see if the yeilds increase.

i still think that planting on a rotating globe is a better idea

A tomato plant isn't like a regular plant... it's actually a vine.
vines hang. canabis doesn't.
