LED grow lights

I have a question on lighting i have just read a artical on using blue LED lights during the 12hrs of that would be the normally be dark aparantly plants photosynthesize but the flowering is not affected more growth and produce more sugars(approx 20-40watts per 1000 watts of reg light is suggested) has any one tried this and if so what were the results

The general consensus has been that LED's aren't at the levels of MH and HPS lighting just yet.

I myself have made LED threads. Red for veg, blue for flower, but even still they don't compare to traditional systems in terms of price/efficiency just yet.

I hope the day comes soon however.

I`ve never heard that before about the blue light being left on 24 hrs but not affecting flowering. Any link to said article?

Would this be of much benefit anyway except in early flowering?- the plant uses the more red/orange parts of the spectrum for flowering anyway.

If you use enough light to do anything growth wise to the plants during the night time then it will through off the photo cycle. I E it will not be night time any more. Check here for some information on grow lights that really work.
