30 days from seed

Started a couple of NL seeds (strictly for experimental purposes) about 30 days ago. They were both germinated straight into soil.

30L pot (about 8 gal) with top soil (16-11-11) and 40% perlite. Bottom of the pot was filled with 2" of small pebbles for better drainage.

During the first 2 weeks they grew at a normal rate.

Gave em a root stimulator and 4 days later they were growing like crazy. Doubled in size!

Waited a few days and watered with half dose of HY-pro (canna specialised bio fert)

Here are the results. One is almost 13" and the other one about 11". They re both in the same pot.

beauties peaceseeker, one looks like its got some serious branching started already.thats a good sign in my opinion.I've grown NL outdoors and they'll get as tall as 5 foot tall and be 4 feet across.keep up them experiments.aren't you in the northern hemi?NL will get budrot if you get to many rainy days and humidity and fog nearing harvest time.just keep a good look at the buds as they finish. the budmold will be hard to spot.it starts from the inside of the bud on an underside of the bud.if you get any just pinch out the moldy part and trash the mold.if you pinch any don't fondle your plants with your hands till you wash.it stands to reason you could spread it.when I worried about mold I tried to shake the moisture off the plant early in the day.I never lost more than a handful of buds, but it can get bad from what I've read.
here's a pic of NL drying in my old barn

Dan,

i ll write down the ingredients of this root stimulator for you, since the name of the product wont help you (its a locally made product under a greek name).

I m sure you can find equally good (if not better) root stimulators there. Does make a difference though.

thc: Great yeild thc!! My NL 's this spring, gave about 20-25g each. Good bud though.

thanks for the tip by the way I ll definatly keep an eye for mold since these ladies will be flowering during fall (they re preflowering right now).

file manolo: i wouldnt be starting two seeds in one pot in normal circumstances, but since this grow is for experimental purposes mostly, i thought to give it a chance in a large pot (30L) see what happens.

^exactly

They did their pre-flower stretch last week and started flowering a few days ago. One pheno is like the ones i grew this spring, short and Christmas tree like.

The other one grows big and tall. Thick stems though.

question : i wanna cut the lower (smaller) branches so the plants can focus on the main top buds. Can i do it now that flowering has already started or am i gonna stress the plant/slow it down?

Were it me, and there aren't a whole whack of pistils... I would trim it up for sure.
The bottom branches tend to produce tiny buds anyways

If they are close enough to the soil to get icky when you water?
I would remove them, otherwise those little solar panels should get left.

That's what I would do though.

How are things in that beautiful place you live?

about 35 days from seed, 3-4 days in flowering.

if i realise one thing from this experiment is this :

Big pots (from an early stage) = big healthy plants growing fast
