A limit to the amount of embedded video topics? - Page 2

Well I didn't mean to make it into a big deal as I honestly dont give much of a shit about it seeming it's just an internet forum. But I think it needed to be pointed out, when you've been posting here for a couple of years and then all of a sudden 50% of threads are made by Saddam and contain some video we've all probably seen before then it starts to eventually get on your nerves.

I will continue to ignore the threads, I just wanted to let the mods and saddam know that some of us don't like him abusing the freedom he gets here. Alot of forums wouldn't allow people to make threads about basically nothing with just a video included. I feel Saddam takes advantage of Yahookas slack rules and needs to be put in his place sometimes.

The only true way to solve this is to make a video subforum of the multimedia forum...

Strictly for those cool, insightful, lolatoermao-worthy, amazing...Videos that don't encourage much discussion beyond "omg that was cool, etc.."...

All the other forums could remain banter based and the tension of all this fucking bickering will be over...I'm tired of being a shit because every thread I click on has a video that I have no intentions of watching as the focal point...I'm sure everyone is tired of reading it also...

not so much the specific OP suggestion itself, but rather with regards to the issue at large...

definitely being discussed,

definitely taken into consideration when a person uses a thread in Feedback to demonstrate exactly the behavior that folks are reasonably expressing some concerns about,

definitely makes you wonder, when mostly all a person has to offer in response to said concerns is a suggestion to "grow thicker skin," what they are really hoping to offer folks with these daily contributions.

more useful feedback from folks here could probably be a boon to both the other Mods as well as Saddam himself.

When a vocal minority dislikes me personally, and uses my embedded video posting as an excuse to have me 'banned,' what am I to say?

Growing thicker skin would never hurt.

Well this whole issue seems like a waste of everyones time to me. Saddam, wtf man, clearly people have a problem with how your using 'our' 'community' space. It would be kind of you to take into account your behaviour and cut back on the videos at least a little. Especially when they are just random and off topic like the video in this thread (which I admit I watched from beginning to end, thats seriously his voice?).

Also, I think Saddam is right. Wtf guy, you cant scroll past this stuff? Its not like it plays automatically. Gotta get the mods to do something about it eh? Cradle to grave I tell ya

But seriously its easy to not view a video (unless its the topic of a thread) and even better, if its one user who is making you upset, implement the IGNORE feature. Thats why its there.

Personally I kinda like seeing the videos, and besides Saddam, I havn't really noticed any sort of great flux of video posting. If I can watch and listen, I don't have to read. There is still plenty of reading, good or bad, to be done here. Is there something offensive about videos that text doesnt have? I suppose it is not the voice of the poster (unless they made the vid), so there is that.

Anyways. I think this is silly. I don't expect the mods really need to do anything, except, in light of threads like this, understand that the video abusing behaviour as exhibited by some members is frustrating to other members and needs to be perceived critically, with communication hoping to foster more peaceful forums. In extreme cases, this sort of feedback can be used to help support ban action etc etc So in other words, NOTED.

But again, I really don't think this is much of an issue at all. I like people discussing their own stuff. But so long as most users have that spirit we will carry on doing so, and polite feedback/criticism such as this thread will keep us aware of whos causing shit. Even if they don't necessarily break 'the rules'.
And also basically I am saying, it is silly to try and regulate how much video someone can post, or fit it all into one forum, bad apples don't need to rot the whole basket.

Which is a similar situation to that which just got J-Wonder banned, so if I was a mass video poster, I would take note.
