Regarding the locking of threads and censorship
Alright, I've noticed a lot of threads get locked on yahooka when there is an unpopular viewpoint, and also a lot of censorship and deleting of posts or partial deletion.
I find this ironic when many people on here complain of the destruction of our civil liberties, free speech, and this is a place of stoners. I am a poster on some conservative web sites where mods never delete or censor unless it is a direct personal attack or physical threat of violence. I would think they would be the ones more likely to delete unpopular viewpoints and silence any opposition.
Isn't that what prohibition is about too? I see prohibition almost as a form of censorship. It certainly gained traction by manipulating people and silencing anyone who opposed it. It was championed by the same people who were in favor of censorship in the media, and also intolerant people who were racist and xenophobic.
So what is the story? When did the mods get together and decide to act like the very people that they too complain about?

/sigh
Members with green names (long timers) can lock their own threads. So therefore, everytime you see a locked thread, don't ASSUME it was a mod who closed it. I'm sure you're alluding to GHM's Thanksgiving thread...even though I posted in it, it wasn't closed by me. Sooo, yeah, unless you need a picture drawn...

I was alluding to his Thanksgiving thread, but also the GodDegree insulted me in Obama won President thread but part of his post was deleted, and quite frankly I wanted to see what he had to dish out for me. It said, "no need for abuse", and I think people should have those posts unchanged so we can see them for who they are. There are other posts that are partially deleted as well, and I've seen people say things like, "damn, half of this thread just got deleted" and so forth.

I've never seen a message board where the users DIDN'T complain about censorship and the moderators. Ever. It happens on every single message board, mostly because message boards are owned by individuals who set the rules. If you don't like it, start your own freaking board and make up the rules.

Okay Hemingway, your threads are serious, and from now on, the Lord shall treateth them as such. The Lord hereby promiseth to never ridicule you in any thread you've deemed "serious," and have as a result, locketh.
The Lord will continue to ridicule you in other, "non-serious" threads.
I hopeth such graciousness on the part of the Lord sufficeth your unemployed, livin' at home with mom, easily bruiseth ego. Verily.
Peace & Love
